Dato’ Dr. Lim Lee Seng

Lim Lee Seng was born in a small village called Pasir Panjang in Port Dickson. He grew up in an environment with oil tanker trucks, ships and depots right next to Malaysia’s first oil refinery.

He moved from Pasir Panjang to Seremban when the time came to make his mark on the world, starting a small trading business supplying kerosene to the small township around Mentakab in Pahang. As a true self-made entreprenur, he personally would drive his own lorry to make the supplies. Identifying an opportunity and a need for the occupants of the township, he would also buy canned food and instant noodles for the small town, supplying items that were not easily found there.

However as the days of electric poles arrived, he was faced with a challenge of the lessening demand for his kerosene. Through his frequent conversations with his community of customers and friends, he learnt of a small Mobil station in the Mentakab town that was on the lookout for a new dealer. With sheer determination and a little bit of luck, he managed to fulfill a long-standing dream by convincing a multinational oil corporation to make him a Mobil dealer.

Dato’ Dr. Lim Lee Seng never stopped working and was always willing to get his hands dirty to get the job done. He truly dedicated his life to the Seng Group. Dato’ Dr. Lim Lee Seng was laid to rest in 2012 after battling cancer for 2 years.
